About SPEAK UP
The 1-866-SPEAK-UP hotline is the first-and-only national hotline for students to anonymously report weapon-related threats in their schools and communities. Created in collaboration with leading education and law enforcement experts, 1-866-SPEAK-UP has received more than 25,000 calls since its launch in 2002.

School Safety Package
We work closely with schools and school districts to implement the hotline in a way that is meaningful and long-lasting to students. To maximize the impact of the hotline and the SPEAK UP message, we provide participating schools with the following:

-- Threat reports phoned and faxed to two designated school contacts as well as local law enforcement.
-- Call center staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with trained crisis counselors.

-- High-impact bilingual wallet cards and posters promote 1-866-SPEAK-UP.
-- Video and audio public service announcements to share with students.

[education]
-- High school and middle school lesson plans which meet national health standards include reproducible student journal and teacher's guide.
-- Pre- and post-assessment surveys that evaluate student knowledge of SPEAK UP.
